Tae's Special Trip...
Last Thursday was our 4th wedding anniversary, so my parents decided as our gift they would take Miss T on a special trip and N & I could have some time on our own. A very thoughtful gift if you ask me. The trip that they decided on was to take T to Tuscon, it is only a few hours south and they had a variety of activities planned. I have to say that T has never gone away like this before, I do understand that she is almost 4 and she was only going to be gone for less than 32 hours, but it was hard for me, I fought tears and sometimes they won. On Friday afternoon when we were on our way home from school/work Tae fell a sleep (this typically happens on Thursdays) and when she is out like that she is out for the night. So I was a little bummed that I wasn't going to be able to hang out with her but glad that she was going to be well rested for her trip. So it's Friday night N and I are old timers now and went to bed just after 10, but I slipped into panic mode and could not sleep because I was sooooo worried about T leaving. At one point I woke N up to tell him that she wasn't going anymore, LOL!!! So finally I was feeling better and went to sleep only to have T come into our room at 3:30am to tell me that she was hungry (no dinner due to the early bed) that she wanted to have breakfast and that she was ready to go on her trip. Classic!!! She was soooo excited. N did the first shift since I confessed that I hadn't gotten much sleep due to my motherly worries. Around 4:30 I took over and N went back to sleep. We started packing her bags, she literally took bags of stuff with her. All in all she went and had a great time, below are a few pictures. N & I had a great time, we took a nap (due to the crazy night), we saw 2 movies (still can't believe it), ate 3 adult meals, got massages, and really just enjoyed each other. But, we were both very happy when T got home, we just aren't complete with out her!
The first stop on the agenda was a bird farm......apparently they had other animals too.....
I think in this one she is saying "Noni, I don't want to feed the deer......."
"You feed the deer Noni, I think I see something I like better......"
"I like the donkey..........."
"I really like the donkey..........."

T said that ostriches are scary & that they bite, Poppy was the only one brave enough to feed them! She said that Poppy is sooo brave because of that!
The emus were little smaller than the ostriches but still scary, she did get some of their feathers.

Another stop was to visit the snow, yes we do have snow here in the AZ. Knowing T she is trying to hit Noni & Poppy with a snow ball! Good job T!

Then she slid down the hill on her buns, ate the snow and tried to make a snow angel but said it didn't work. She really had a great time and we enjoyed our time too...Thanks Mom & Dad :)

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Here is Miss T in her Valentine's dress with her heart shirt (from grammy) under, showing her spirit for the holiday. She was very eager to go to school today because of the Valentines she would get to hand out to all her friends, she also had 1/2 pound chocolate bars for each of her teachers. I think the bag with all her gift must have weighed about 6 or 7 pounds, but she carried it into class with pride, not to mention all around the house all morning.

I know this video is from last year, but it is too cute not to share again!

Down on the banks of the....
Tempe man made lake/river/dam was where we went to walk last weekend. They just built a new performing arts center and we wanted to walk down and see it. We were lucky because the day that we went happened to be the same day that they decided to open the dam due to all the rain (aka winter weather) we have been having. This was lucky because this doesn't happen very often. Factoid for you: The dam is made out of rubber. Like a giant balloon, they just let air in and out to control the flow of the water. I thought that was really cool. Oh, and we also saw a beaver building his dam, very exciting for Tae and the rest of us too.

(below) The little dark spot is the beaver.

Video!!!!!
My favorite parts are the sound of her feet hitting the ground and her beautiful giggles when she gets to me. Turn up the volume and enjoy!
