Love letters from a 3 year old mind....

On our way home this evening T had an interesting way of entertaining herself...This is the conversation she was having with herself....

Dear Tae,
I really love you. I want you to come to my house and play. I miss you and love you.

Love,
Jameson

Me "Tae what are you doing?"
T "Reading my cards, my love cards."
She was pretending....

Dear Jameson,

I know that you really love me and miss me SO much but I can't come over to your house because I love Dylan. Dylan and I are getting married and so I can't play with you anymore.

I love you so much,
T

Dear Dylan,

I love you. I am so happy we are getting married. You are so strong. Jameson loves me too. Maybe we can all get married. Let's play at my house.

I love you!
Tae

Wow. I think maybe they are learning about valentine's day at school.

Birthday Party!!!

A little girl that T goes to school with turned 6 this weekend so we had a very fun birthday party to go to. It just happens that the little girl is the daughter of one of Tae's favorite teachers, so I am not sure who she was more excited to see at the party :) . The pictures are not that great but she really had a lot of fun. It was at an indoor facility filled with giant bouncy castles and slides. Below is basically a class photo, funny part is that most of the kids at the party are from the other class, not Tae's. She didn't even seem to notice.

Wit of a 3 year old...

The other night the 3 of us were sitting down at the table for dinner. We were having salad and tortellini; at first glance T was very happy with the dinner selection. She happily ate her salad and then started to work on the tortellini. A few bites in she announced that she wanted a "treat", followed by the usual question, "how many bites?" We said all of it. T sat and thought about it for a few seconds and then put her fork down and declared that she shouldn't eat any more tortellini. When we asked her why, she told us "I think they are made with a lot of sugar and sugar will make me small", this coming from the girl who 2 minutes earlier was ready for her "treat". I told her that was not true and that she needed to eat her dinner and the tortellini would make her big and strong. She picked up her fork and very dramatically placed a tortellini in her mouth, as she was chewing she very slowly started to slide down in her chair. By the time she was finished with her bite, all we could see above the table were her eyes and the top of her head. The comment that followed was priceless; she said "See, I told you they would make me small!" N and I were able to hold a straight face for maybe 2 seconds.

Watching T's Mind Grow.....

I just want to say that we often run into the term "day care" as in "Oh what day care does your daughter go to?" and I always feel a little odd when I respond that she doesn't go to day care, she goes to school. I always know in the back of their mind they are probably chuckling, "yeah we call it school too...hahaha". But T does go to school, I will say that the end of the day does consist of "day care" she is only 3, but I feel strongly that her morning activities consist of learning. They just finished a lesson about the environment, and now they have moved on to the weather. Tae was telling me all about how rainbows are made and lighting and thunder...very cool things to hear from your 3 year old. I have to show you the art project they did to go along with their lesson... I was so excited you would have thought they had put a fifty dollar bill in her folder...I love to watch her grow!

I think I may have done a project like this in the 3rd grade.

Frustrations of the Heart....

Miss T has been very frustrated lately at the fact that she is not able to draw a heart...Not only does she want to be able to draw hearts, she wants to be able to cut them out of paper with scissors. I have not mentioned a single word about Valentine's Day but it seems that she may have some deep connection with the holiday and her body/mind is trying to prepare???? Just kidding! We did come up with a good alternative to the drawing-cutting aspect and she now bakes heart shaped cookies. Using her new baking set and some good ol' play dough she is pretty satisfied with her activities "of the heart"....

Tower Power....

With a little bit of her balancing skills and a whole lot of silliness, Tae built herself this tower. The main structure consisted of DVD cases, and then we have some old fashion video tapes, next came the large box or crayons topped with a small box of crayons, with the final touch of her snowman bag hanging with precision around the larger crayon box.

It appears that Bruty may have been trying to cause some trouble with Tae and her tower...but don't worry...she thought twice.
