I have heard mixed reviews of this episode. I personally found it very touching and very inspirational. If you have 40 minutes of free time, I suggest you watch it, I also recommend you grab some tissues and maybe close your door.
For me it was a window into the unknown. I know that my situation may not be exactly the same as the one displayed in this video, but it could be very similar. I can only hope that our birthparents are as remarkable as these two young parents are.
I commend these two teenagers for their maturity and their strength. They possess a level of selflessness that all parents should possess and unfortunately some parents never develop. I was watching the “Dr. Drew” follow up show and N and I both were in awe to hear these kids explain that they were able to do this because it was not about THEM. That once you have a child that life is no longer about you; it is about what is best for the child. I know I did not possess that wisdom when I was 17. I completely lost it during the delivery scene when Tyler covers Catelynn’s face with his body so she doesn’t have to see the baby. The things he says and the emotions…very emotional…very strong. Such inspirational and insightful people at such a young age, I am so happy that they found each other.
3 months later, at the follow up episode, they say they are at peace with their decision.
Anyway…if you have a little time I suggest watching this.
