The First Few Days....

We left the airport at home Wednesday night at 8pm, flying to LA. Our flight was delayed leaving the airport about 30 minutes and we sat on the runway in LA for an hour waiting for a gate to open up. Really not a big deal considering we had a three hour layover in LA, but still not fun. We made our way to the international terminal and entertained D until it was time for our flight. We boarded our plane and went to our seats, which were awesome, they turned into beds and we each had our own TV. A few hours into our flight the attendants announced that there was a medical emergency and if there was a doctor on board to please alert an attendant right away. People were rushing around for a bit, but then everything seemed to settle down and we assumed it was all ok. We watched a few movies and then went to sleep. Several hours later the captain announced that due to a medical emergency we would be landing in Tokyo so the passenger could receive the proper medical attention. Once we landed several paramedics boarded the plane and surprisingly fast, they removed the gentleman from the plane. At the time I was unsure if the man was alive when they got to him, but looking back now, it was very obvious from the way they carried him out and the lack of urgency of the ambulance to leave, that the gentleman had died. All the events took place in the back of the plane and we were unaware of anything that happened since we were sitting in the front, so all I can say is that it was a very unfortunate event and I feel for all the people involved. Since we had landed in another country, the airline had to file paper work accordingly, and we had to wait for completion of the process before we could leave. We waited for a little over three hours:( Our flight landed in Taiwan about 30 minutes after our connecting flight was scheduled to leave; fortunately they had held the plane since the majority of the passengers were coming from our previous flight. We did have to hall A$$ through the airport, it was funny though about every 20 feet there was an attendant telling you where to go, very helpful, very kind. We landed in Ho Chi Minh City around 11am on Friday, found the person meeting us and went to the hotel. Driving is CRAZY here, I will elaborate more later, seriously crazy. We stayed in our room for the remainder of the day and went to bed around 4pm, sleeping until 8am with a little wake up time around 1 am. We were feeling pretty good considering all the travel and time changes and decided to venture out to the market since the rest of our group would not arrive until later that day. Here are some pictures I took around the city.

That is all I have for now……
